Distressed Wood Wall Carvings

Gilly from Colour Saturated Life never disappoints with her knock offs. They always look they came straight from the pages from a catalog, and these wall carvings are no different!

Gilly was out shopping when she found some resin carvings that looked a little on the cheap side.

However, Gilly knew they had the potential to look so much better.

She mounted the carvings, framed them out, and then gave them a distressed finish with chalk paint. Aren’t they beautiful?!?

Restoration Hardware Knock Off Wall Carvings

Gilly was inspired by Restoration Hardware’s Framed Medallions.

Stockport Medallion

I love the chain-like border because it reminds me of family sticking together.

I love these medallions for their look and because they make me wonder what one could do with those old "Coppercraft" wall hangings I often see at thrift shops....

It would be worth a try if you could get it cheap. Chalk paint is amazing stuff.
