After building her daughter a beautiful panel bed fit for a princess, Whitney from Shanty 2 Chic built two matching nightstands that are every bit as lovely! Whitney loved the design of a nightstand she’d previously built for her son’s room and teamed up with Ana White to put a “girly” spin on the plans. There is no question in my mind why Whitney adores this design so much – hidden storage! Plus, it sure sweetens the deal that they only cost $60 each to build!
Erin from Elizabeth Joan Designs needed some storage for her son’s ever-growing collection of basketballs, footballs and soccer balls. She happened to have an old metal laundry basket in storage and gave it an industrial makeover a la Restoration Hardware. I love how Erin was able to use a little creativity to turn an item she wasn’t using anymore into a functional and decorative storage solution!
Nicole from Shabby Beach Nest was floored when she saw the price of a bunny pillow that her daughter wanted to get for Easter – $75! Nicole says, “I knew I could make this pillow on the cheap, and boy was I right. This pillow cost me a whopping $0.” I love Nicole’s resourcefulness in using the fabric from an old shirt and dress for her pillow. It cost her nothing and repurposed some items from her stash.
