Can you believe Christmas is only a week away?!? Do you still have shopping to finish, gifts to wrap, and cookies to bake? Let’s keep things simple today then, shall we? Sam from The Lovebugs Blog created these fun and whimsical Christmas trees with just some rope and hot glue. She says, “This might be the world’s easiest craft project.  It took about 15 minutes to pull these trees together and only required a few materials.  It was low cost and has a big impact.”

Wooden Wall Map for a Pirate-Loving Lad

wood-wall-map.png

Kristen from Down Home Inspiration created this wooden wall map for her pirate-loving son’s bedroom. Kristen had been on the lookout for a relatively easy and inexpensive décor, and this DIY wall art fit the bill to perfection. Kristen already had the plywood on hand and simply used a projector to outline the land. For a personal touch, Kristen included a bay with pirate history that she and her husband had just visited for their anniversary.

Play Vanity Stool with Gathered Slipcover

diy-girls-slipcovered-stool.jpg

If you read this morning’s feature that showcased an adorable play vanity built by the talented Jaime from That’s My Letter, you probably noticed the cutesy little stool with a gathered slipcover pictured with it. Yes, Jaime made it too, and so can you! Jaime modified plans from Ana White to build the stool from scrap wood and dug some fabric from her stash for the sweet little slipcover. I love that cover is removeable and can be washed because, let’s be honest, little girls and makeup can get a bit messy!

Today’s gift idea is for the little ladies in the house! Jaime from That’s My Letter teamed up with Ana White to build “the cutest little vanity with a drawer and mirror built just the right height for pint-sized girls.” I love all the details like the corbels, stair baluster legs, and crystal knob that make this vanity so sweet and girly. I know my daughter would go gaga over it!

She says this is the perfect time to tackle this project since Christmas lights are in full supply.

Changing Table and Dresser That Grows With Baby

diy changing table dresser

Following plans from Ana White, Whitney at Shanty 2 Chic built this changing table and dresser for her oldest daughters’ former babysitter who is now all grown up and having a baby of her own. How sweet is that?!? The three large drawers offer plenty of storage space for diapers, wipes, swaddling blankets, and the like. I love how easily this piece of furniture can transition to a dresser when diaper changes are a thing of the past.

Thanksgiving Boat Place Holders

Here’s a really cute Thanksgiving idea from Ashley at Simply Designing. With just a bit of felt and a little hand-stitching, she made these little pilgrim boats filled with candy. Wouldn’t these make darling place holders at the “kid’s table?” You could also fill them with small gourds or pinecones if the candy might prevent your little ones from “gobbling” up their turkey.
