Embellished Bud Vase

bud-vase-finalIMG_5485.jpg

Lora from Craftivity Designs created this bud vase that’s perfect for displaying those beautiful spring blooms. Lora paired a thrifted flower pin with a thrifted vase for an all together thrifty version of Anthro’s pretty flower vases. Spring is all about new life, and this is a great way to repurpose an old piece of jewelry and give it a fresh start!

Chalkboard Globe Makeover

anthro-inspired-chalkboard-globe.jpg

Lora from Craftivity Designs loves anything globe or map related, so when she saw the Anthropologie Soapstone Globe, she had to recreate it. Lora already had a toy globe on hand that she had picked up at a yard sale for only $2. With some chalkboard paint, it’s now the perfect way to display a sweet note or special quote!

Painted Zigzag Lampshade

anthro-chevron-lamp-shade.jpg

Erika from Retropolitan wanted to add a bold pop of color to her master bedroom and found a modern zigzag lampshade that she loved. But who spends $250 for lampshades? Definitely not Erika (or me for that matter!).  Erika created an awesome replica by hand painting white lampshades she already had. How fun is this?!?

Chalkboard Globe

Jacob from Home Tree Atlas has just delved into the world of chalkboard paint! One of his pioneer projects was an Anthropologie-inspired chalkboard globe that now serves as a weekly to-do list on his desk. How much more fun is this than a plain old sheet of paper?!? In addition to impeccable style, I  think Jacob has superb taste in online reading materials {wink}!

Painted Canvas Art Letters

Mary from At Home on the Bay is a lady who loves artwork. Combine artwork AND letters, and she’s hooked! Mary made these artistic letters by covering paper mache letters with “paintings” printed on fabric. Even with purchasing several materials, Mary still made all five letters for only $20. I love this fun and fresh take on the typography trend!

Rosette Toddler Quilt

Kelli at The Turquoise Piano made this gorgeous rosette quilt for her daughter’s crib using a $5 twin sheet from Wal-mart. The cost comes more in patience and perseverance in creating and sewing together all the little squares. However, it goes without saying that the end result is absolutely stunning!

Ruffled Pillowcases

diy-ruffled-pillowcase-from-sheet.jpg

During her monthly sewing group, Terra from Mama Says Sew made these gorgeous ruffled pillowcases with contrast stitching. From a king-sized sheet, the ladies were able to make several sets, and the price came out to only $3 per pillowcase. I simply adore the pop of color in the turquoise thread and how it ties into Terra’s other pillow. Who would think such a little bit of thread would make such an impact!
