Keeping in line with her neutral fall color scheme, Maryann at Domestically Speaking wanted to tone down a bright orange pumpkin she had purchased from a garage sale. She got just the look she was after by decoupaging pieces of brown paper onto the surface. Working with torn pieces of paper makes it easy to cover curves as on Maryann’s pumpkin, and the overlapped edges give a nice textured finish.
Maryann was inspired by the pumpkin featured in this picture from Pottery Barn.

Awesome, Caitlin! Thanks for reading and spreading the word! It’s really a great feeling to know you have filled your home with your own meaningful creations (and saved a buck at the same time). Hugs!
