Amanda from Crafts by Amanda created this starfish plaque as part of her beach-themed bathroom makeover. The plaque originated as the lid to an ice fishing bait bucket. Amanda layered on a couple coats of acrylic paint and stain to give it an aged look and then used a thickening medium to create the starfish design. The fishing bucket lid was the perfect choice for this piece. I like how all the ruts and grooves in the wood contribute to the natural, aged look Amanda hoped to create.
